    Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) was an innovator in the field of landscape architecture. He is widely known for his design of Central Park in Manhattan and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Olmsted lived in a colonial era farmhouse in the Eltingville neighborhood of Staten Island in the mid-1800s.
